Password Security: Unfortunate common trends among directors.

Date. 27 November 2022

In a world where personal connections and memories play a significant role, it is natural for people to hold dear the names and birth years of their loved ones.

Studies indicate that a substantial portion of directors have passwords containing variations of their wife’s first names combined with significant birth years like their own, such as “Mary1985” or “Sarah1990.” While these passwords may have sentimental value, they are vulnerable to brute-force attacks and dictionary-based hacks. Cyber attackers can easily guess passwords by exploiting publicly available information or leveraging social engineering techniques. The first names of loved ones are easily figured out through a something simple like a phone call.
